Apolonija Simon: Nedokončane zgodbe (Unfinished Stories) – Exhibition

The acclaimed Slovenian painter Apolonija Simon presents Nedokončane zgodbe (Unfinished Stories), a solo exhibition of her latest large-scale works, at the Božidar Jakac Gallery. Recognized as one of Slovenia’s most compelling contemporary painters, Simon explores powerful, often unsettling themes through visually arresting, monumental paintings. In harmony with the unique architecture of the former monastery church that houses the exhibition, Simon will also unveil a newly created, site-specific work of grand dimensions. Her paintings serve as haunting reflections on destruction – such as environmental cataclysms or genocidal pogroms by imperialist powers – beyond individual control.
