Kostanjevica na Krki: Jaka Babnik: The Question of Perspective, Exhibition

The Question of Perspective offers a comprehensive survey of nearly two decades of artistic practice by photographer and visual artist Jaka Babnik. Between 2007 and 2026, Babnik developed a series of acclaimed projects presented in both exhibitions and publications, establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Slovenian photography. Through a keen observational lens, Babnik explores a wide range of contemporary social phenomena. At the heart of his work lies the careful documentation of transformations within the cultural landscapes of his immediate surroundings – changes shaped by complex historical, social and political forces. The diversity of subjects addressed throughout his oeuvre reflects a deep engagement with the condition of contemporary society, revealing its contradictions, tensions and underlying paradoxes. Together, the works invite viewers to reflect on the ways in which we perceive, interpret and inhabit the world around us.
