This multi-award-winning co-production of Goran Vojnović’s novel returns us to the former common state of Yugoslavia. Past and present intertwine in the bilingual narrative of Vladan who searches the Balkans for his estranged father, a former officer suspected of war crimes. Through the emotional struggles of the main protagonists, the contradictions and complexities of the former Yugoslavia come to life and offer an opportunity to reflect on the stories that have shaped today’s generations.
