Veronika Deseniška – A Musical of the City of Love

Set against the atmospheric ruins of Celje Castle, the musical Veronika Deseniška returns with renewed emotional power in a year marking the 600th anniversary of Veronika’s tragic death. The musical tells the legendary story of forbidden love between Count Frideric II of Celje and Veronika Deseniška, which has stirred the hearts of more than 25,000 viewers since its debut. Blending historical drama, romantic depth and artistic excellence, the performance transforms the medieval castle into a stage for timeless emotion. Eva Černe Avbelj reprises her acclaimed role as Veronika, joined by Klemen Bunderla, Tjaša Hrovat Steklasa, Željka Predojević Korošec, Srđan Milovanović, Marjan Bunič and Gregor Ravnik. The music was composed by Leon Firšt and the script was written by Janez Usenik.
